Eke Angéla x ANNA AMÉLIE
Sleeping Theatre

For the 44th “Budapest Spring Festival”, ANNA AMÉLIE joined forces with actress and creator Eke Angéla to reimagine her intimate Sleeping Theatre concept on a grand scale.

In the historic Merlin Theatre’s main hall, guests were invited to step one by one into a custom-built dreamscape - greeted personally by Angéla with a handshake, a quiet thought, and a trace of a bespoke scent left on their hands.

Inside, each guest discovered their own plush bed, dressed in hand-painted ANNA AMÉLIE bed linens created by desiger and visual artist Oláh Anna. Monumental cloud sculptures floated overhead, while live soundscapes by Budavári Balázs, paired with soft lighting and delicate textures, enveloped the space.

Guests were encouraged to watch - or fall asleep to - Angéla’s original bedtime story for adults, a meditative tale about safety, trust, and childhood wonder.

The one-night installation blurred the lines between theatre, live art, and sensory experience. A place where strangers could rest side by side, surrender to stillness, and dream among the clouds.
